Painting Information

I originally worked in oils and for my pets' health, I switched to acrylics. I continue to paint using traditional oil painting techniques of glazing and using various mediums to create depth and texture. I can create either a realistic or "painterly" portrait of your pet.

Sometimes, the pet's personality translates better in "mug shots" and other times, a relaxed pose or an action shot is better at communicating the quirks. Meeting the pet (or through photos) and listening to you talk about your pet will help me to build  a true visual and emotional picture. My job is to transform how you see your pet into a painting.

Supports/Painting surfaces

Natural wood panels, linens and 10 oz cotton canvases are used. They provide a strong support and do not require framing. The gallery wrapped panels (stapled on the back), ranging from 3/4" to 1.5" in depth can also be painted.

These supports are specially sourced from different suppliers and a selection of sizes are kept in stock. Linen panels are custom stretched and 10 oz canvases are pre-stretched.

It is recommended that linen or cotton canvas is used for larger paintings to decrease the shipping weight.

Gold Leaf

23K gold has a warm and antiqued look that lasts while imitation gold will fade or tarnish over time.

Complicated background settings, intricate clothing patterns, additional objects or changes in gold prices may alter price of the painting.
